| Kentia
Palm Grown for Interior and one of the best.
This palm is very slow growing and should
never be put in a larger pot. It is extremely delicate and its
tropical look is one of a kind. Its leaves droop downward and are
very curved. Its fruits are elliptical, and are evenly spaced at
both ends, ripening through dull orange to deep dull red. This palm
will probably not change its look for many years.
The
Kentia palm, Howea forsterana, is one of the most elegant
interior palms. They are native to Lord Howe Island, off the eastern
coast of Australia. The climate on this island is warm to cool
temperate, therefore Kentias are tolerant of wind, drafts, temperature
changes, and rough handling. They take cool weather well, but cannot
tolerate frost.
